Teen Gets Hammered by Brownsville Bodega Owner

2008_04_bodegabklyn.JPGA Brooklyn teen was bludgeoned last night by a bodega owner who accused him of stealing from his East New York Ave. store. The 15-year-old, Bunkless Bovian, got into a confrontation that turned physical with Ahmed Solaf, the store's owner, after he was accused of shoplifting. As the two fought, Solaf picked up a hammer and struck the teen in the skull.

The teenager was transported to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. Solaf was arrested by police and charged with felony assault. Munchies Bodega was apparently under partial construction Sunday night, which explains why a hammer was so handy as a weapon.

Bunkless Bovian's parents are arguing that their son was not trying to steal anything from Munchies, but was simply arguing with a friend in the store when confronted by Solaf. NY1 News spoke to several people in the neighborhood who said the incident was totally uncharacteristic of both individuals. Family members described Bunkless as a polite teen who was an unlikely suspect for shoplifting. Customers said that Solaf was a friendly and courteous shop owner.

Bunkless Bovian?!

Bunkless? Is that someone devoid of bunk?

was his sister named nixzmary by any chance?

That's the best you guys could do. Where's all the blaming the kid that got hit in the head with the hammer?

you guys are slacking.

I think Al Sharpton will have to sort this one out. Al,what say you?

Worst name ever, unless he becomes a wrestler or a character in a Tarantino movie. His parents deserve a hammer to the skull for that one.

Ahmed Solaf for Schools Chancellor !

amazing how only the things happen to mild-mannered, church-going citizens who have nothing but respect for other human beings.

i want to know how they got the nickname 'bulaboo' and whether thats any better.

I got hammered at a bodega once.

Where was Crazy James during all of this? That cant be that perp's real name.. Bunkless Bovian?

Bunkless Bovian sounds like an old 1920's comic strip character who can never do anything right.

Bunkless Bovian reminds me of a flying cow without a bed.

phil mccraken 222.. i completley agree.. let this be a lesson to insolent little beasts everywhere.

I bet this kid called crap like "Archie Bunker" in school. Not that such a thing condones violence.

Yeah, I'm sure this kid's peers are all about Archie Bunker. Bunk is actually a synonym for sh*tty, so Bunkless is really a high compliment.

hammerhead

The teens of the city tend to run around in marauding packs, especially during the school year. They have little manners and no supervision. Their mother's just crapped em' out and now it's everybody else's problem.

There goes another President of the united states , stupid white america.

Meet the parents: Mindless and Feckless.

STOP....

Hammer Time!

You're going to hell, MC Hammer.

First- was the 'Hammer' illegally concealed?
Second- did the store owner have a permit to possess said 'Hammer'?
Third- was the 'Hammer' loaded when it was used by the store owner?
Fourth- was the 'Hammer' previously used in the commission of a felony 'Hammer-ing'- and if so, what was the disposition of that incident?
Fifth- was the (alleged) perpetrator warned and then given a chance to retreat?
Sixth- was the store owner ever implicated in any previous 'Hammer-ing'?
Seventh- is it confirmed that the 'Hammer' in question was, in fact, in the possession of the store owner- and NOT in the possession of the (alleged) perpetrator?
Eighth- was the (alleged) perpetrator 'attacked' inside, or outside the store being defended by the store owner?
Ninth- with the (alleged) perpetrator laying semi-conscious outside the store- ON THE CITY STREET- will the parents have standing in a court of law in filing suit against the City of New York?!
Tenth- Considering the candidacy of Mr. Obama- is the (alleged) perpetrator 'black' enough to take legal action as regards this incident?

It seems to me that there are very many legal question here as yet to be answered-Where-O'-Where, are the L-A-W-Y-E-R-S when you need them?!?
