Extra, Extra

Live well, by EssG at flickr
- Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: an amputation on East End Ave. in Manhattan, a shooting on East 178th St. and Clinton Ave. in the Bronx, and a water search in the area of the Whitestone Bridge in Queens.
- "You may not have noticed; but we switched your regular Milkbone dog treats with Batch's gourmet concoction." Three out of four dogs bit that man on the hand.
- Parks are overrated: developers want a shot at turning Governors Island into a mixed-use development.
- Is Rupert Murdoch attempting to suppress a parody issue of the WSJ by The New York Press? Frankly, The New Republic's morphing of Hillary and Obama was way more scary.
- Beautiful photographs of clouds over the George Washington Bridge from The Gay Recluse.
- A privately operated ferry boat ran aground off Liberty Island.
- NYC rents are crazy, but did you know NJ rents are fifth most expensive in the country?
- Footage of Marilyn Monroe administering oral sex to a man has surfaced and was purchased by a NYC businessman. It's unclear if Lindsay Lohan will be called upon to re-create that.

I wouldn't call the GWB photos "Beautiful"... but to each it's own, I guess...
The WSJ parody was created by New York Press, not the Onion.
@mocanlagunas - I agree. Especially compared to the dramatic fog over the brooklyn bridge photo from last week.
@mattcarman - so that's why it wasn't funny.
