ART: Get up close and personal with the B&T crowd tonight as Tom Birkner opens his Jersey Girls exhibit. The Garden Stater explores his Jersey landscape through paintings of tailgating, the Shore, cruising, etc. Pictured: Tina!
EVENT: At tonight's "Upstairs in the Square'' you'll get a serving of Min Jin Lee and her debut novel, "Free Food for Millionaires,'' as well as yesterday's interviewee, Mike Doughty. The former Soul Coughing front man will perform some tunes off his latest cd "Golden Delicious.''
7 p.m. // Union Square Barnes & Noble [33 E 17th St] // Free
THEATER: Playwright Adam Bock, he of the excellent Thugs and The Receptionist, has fired off another round, The Drunken City, a satire of loaded ladies stumbling around town on the bachelorette party circuit. The Times’s Charles Isherwood calls it a “flimsy but sweet comedy” that’s “reasonably diverting without overstaying its welcome.” Moxie the Maven seems equally conflicted, but says you should see it for the terrific cast: “They are the bomb.” – John Del Signore
7:30 p.m. // Playwrights Horizons Peter Jay Sharp Theater [416 W 42nd St] // Tickets cost $45
MUSIC: Seems Sound Fix is still shut down by the DoH (the cafe section, not the record shop), so their Bourbon & Ginger party that was supposed to take place last night, is happening tonight...at Rock Star Bar. Catch Tennessee trio Those Darlins and Brooklynites the Jones Street Boys, joined by Aoife O'Donovan (Crooked Still) and Kristin Andreassen (Uncle Earl).
8 p.m. // Rock Star Bar [S. 5th and Kent, Williamsburg] // Free
