I think few residents of Park Slope are aware that 8th Street between 2nd and 3rd Ave is part of their neighborhood. Pretty sure Gowanus residents and anyone connected with Community Board 6 would feel the same way. Aye, no worries, it was all South Brooklyn back in the day. My first gun was a replica of the 1860 Henry repeating rifle - octagonal barrel, lever action, .44 caliber rimfire. Looked great, but performance wise, probably the least acccurate piece I ever owned (which mattered not at all to me at the time).

Sommelier, myself as well. I don't own a Henry, but I've shot one a few times, and it's a great weapon. Lever action rifles have a very smooth feel to the them. It's sad they are being priced out. It's also ironic because they are being priced out by people who love 'Mom and Pop Shops' and 'Artisans', of which Henry is both. Still, shipping a loaded weapon is really, really careless. People who handle weapons all day know better.

Too bad that they're leaving. I've been an avid shooter since I was just a kid, and Henry rifles are highly regarded, as well as being historically important. One more part of old Brooklyn being priced out and moving to Jersey.
