I like them all Armchair, white, hispanic, Indian, Asian, whatever. The only racial group I never dated was black, and I'd have done that too if the right opportunity presented itself. The Asian chicks I've known (a small percentage of all that I've known, you've forced me to say), whether from poor backgrounds or not, were all getting along very well in their own careers and had more money than me and never gave any indication that they were looking for anything other than companionship, a good time and a good roll in the hay. And that's what I gave them. Any thoughts I've attributed to Asian girls here are directly from them, not stuff I made up. And the one white girl I know who dated an Asian guy told me she wished he was larger and more manly looking! I speak from experience. Nivek seems to agree.

i meet some asian girls who were only into white boys, cause they were from poor backgrounds and they equate white being wealthy. only people who talk about sizes are white guys. you never hear asians or blacks talk about sizes.

You know, when I was a kid my mother told me I'd never get married if I didn't change my ways. I finally realized she was simply telling me how to remain my sweet and happy self! I've never changed my ways, and I've never been subjected to the embittering miseries of marriage or of "settling." I have a long term lover, and quite happy with my life. I don't really know why women demand so much from men, when they're obviously so miserable with them once they've got them underfoot 24/7. I am free, and loved. What the hell more could a woman in her right mind want? I say STAY SINGLE AND LEARN TO LOVE IT. Not everyone was made to get married! One can always have a nice lover (though Europeans are much better at the lover etiquette, and American men who don't want to get married are mostly selfish and abusive for as long as possible, in my experience, and more's the pity for them).

Also unfortunate for you Asian guys is the fact that a lot of Asian chicks are looking elsewhere because they grew up watching their Asian fathers be abusive to their Asian mothers (in my experience), and second because they want big hairy manly guys with schlong to spare (as you say). On the other hand, I've only ever met one white, black or hispanic chick who's dated an Asian guy. And Asian chicks are hot too -- all the more smorgasbord for the rest of us!!! My number one advice for desperate chicks is to move, to Alaska.

I think everyone is hung up on quantity and not quality. I bet all the single women work at the MTA and are named bertha. I think there's probably so many single women around here because of guys like commenters 7 and 8 up there. Don't blame me, I'm just saying it like it is. The reasonably attractive women with good personalities I know might be single between relationships, but they generally aren't on the market for long.

All I know is that whenever I attend social events (whether specifically for singles or not), women outnumber men by as much as 10 to 1... and this has been going on for years.

there are a bunch of factors at work. There are single women who are single because they want to be. There are single women who are single because they are unattractive and have miserable personalities. There are single women who are single because they pass up decent guys who aren't 6'+ tall, handsome, investment bankers (or similarly high income earner). There might be some disparity in numbers, but there are millions of men in this city too- if you're a single woman and unhappy about it, you're probably doing something wrong.

Um, has it occurred to anyone that the more single men there are in an area the more happily single men there are in an area? Duh? Single men are happier and happier staying single, especially as they watch women get more and more desperate. Which is pathetic and true. They can just switch to another woman when their current squeeze starts going psycho and clingy on them. It's not the lack of single men that's the problem! It's the relationship between the sexes that's the problem. I mean, for those who actually want to get married. Which I don't. So, I don't have a problem. Women need to stop evaluating themselves on the basis of whether they have a boyfriend/husband or not. Then maybe they wouldn't be such basket cases with and without men.

That map is largely meaningless. Here is a careful analysis of what it really means. Quick read: taking college-educated people age 18 to 44 into account, there's relatively little difference among U.S. metropolitan areas when it comes to the percentages of single men vs. single women. Half Sigma, a 40ish male blogger living in Hell's Kitchen who often writes about gender issues and the shortage of decent women in Manhattan, is doing a multipart series examining gender balances all over the country.
