I lived in Colorado Springs for 8 years in the 1980s. More recently in Boulder for 15 years. I had a lot of gay friends in Colorado Springs. My favorite restaurant was a lesibian/college student hang-out.

Colorado Springs has always been conservative, but there is a thriving counter-culture community there as well.

I was a freelance writer based in Colorado, but flying into NYC every few weeks, so I know the NYC scene a bit as well.

I've got friends performing at the Colorado tourism event in Madison Square Park today. Check it out if you want to get a bit of Colorado for the day. The state is cool. It's got its pockets of hard core liberalism, and it's pockets of hard core conservatism, and they tend to balance each other out. Over all, we're a state that likes the outdoors, music, and quality of life.

Gouda, do you prefer the oppression of the limit radius of which you can travel and polluted air?
