Surprisingly Classy NY Post Cover

The fans weren't the only ones waiting for the Yankees' first game of the season-last game in the old stadium: The NY Post's front and back covers open up for a panorama of Yankee Stadium.
Or was it classy because of a slow news day?

classy. The closing of this stadium is notable and historic. It's close to being overkill on EVERYTHING being a last though.
Classy would be NOT tearing down a landmark, NOT building on the only piece of open space in the South Bronx, and NOT getting the taxpayer to pay for a few hundred million dollars of the expense.
What do you expect? The Post holds very few things sacred: Same Sex Marriage, The Bush Administration, and the Yankees.
Everything else is fair game for them.
real classy... as long as you overlook the fact that the photo isn't actually from opening day. unless the $1.3 billion they put into the new stadium also made it invisible.
YANKS IN STADIUM SLAY
I don't understand anyone who gets worked up by The Post or any of the regional newspapers.
For the record, Yankee Stadium is hardly the "only piece of open space" in the South Bronx. Walk just three blocks east of the Stadium and you'll find both Joyce Kilmer Park (6.88 acres) and Franz Sigel Park (16 acres). Neither of them charge money for admission, either.
And it's quite likely that photo was taken last night- if you've ever been to the stadium, you'd know that the new construction isn't visible from that angle.
Correct me if I am wrong then but the new stadium is on Macombs Dam Park which was a little over 28 acres. So by your numbers the New Stadium cuts the park space in the area by over half. Gee, sorry I wasn't precise enough for you. Either way, the Yankees are getting a huge handout - land, tax money for "improvements" and tax revenue foregone as the Yankees are paying for this with tax free bonds.
It's not about precision, it's about basic facts. You made an absolute statement, and you were wrong. Don't act like Grand Concoursian was being a pedant for calling you on it.
So that makes it ok then? I was being a little over the top and that's all you care about? Ok then. The BASIC FACT is that a billion dollar enterprise got a sweetheart deal. New Yankee Stadium = good. Atlantic Yards = bad. Got it.
