Wrong, fishfryin. Born and raised in Little Italy (not like it exists anymore, nut I still like the area). Rarely even go to the outer boroughs. I'd got to Jersey one day but I lost my passport. Where are you from? Then again, that doesn't matter. NYC is all about people relocating here, I agree. But it's about what TYPE of people are coming. It wasn't always about having money and the suburbanites who are 'happy it's safe enough to come' now. The history of NY has been the hungry, hardworking, or creative. Or at least, the characters and the uniqe. Look around now, we have lost that. If you lived here for as long as I have and others, you'd see that as clear as day. In the MePathetic district, things really started changing there after that show. And when the guy who owned all the property in teh area died. Sure, it was grimey and a bit run down before, but honestly...at least it was real.

anyone referring to the upper east sideification of new york probably moved here from ohio, but they did so about 10 years ago so they think they are a true new yorker now. the upper east side got smashed by condos and what not just like everywhere else. up until the 90s it was a totally different place.

Personal example of the Upper East Sideification of downtown: I remember when 7B used to be somewhat of a rough bar. But a few years ago there, I accidentally brushed against someone at the bar and they were like, "Excuse you." What!? This is 7B! Crocodile Dundee pulled a knife on people here!

Trust me eyekantspel, she's a dog. Saw her twice & she's nothing near of a beautiful, radiant blonde from a magazine cover. Short & skinny with stringy, dirty looking hair. SJP resembles Dee Snyder from Twisted Sister. Sara is a different story.
