FILM: Brian Frye and Bradley Eros present Fools! on this April Fools Day. They will screen a collection of short films, vintage porn, cartoons, videos (Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker") and more, at the new Light Industry in Sunset Park.
THEATER: An untitled play by Anton Chekhov, often referred to as Platonov, has been given a farcical treatment by the physical comedy troupe Theatre Lila. Titled Firecracker, their comical adaptation shifts the action from Russia to a small town in the American Midwest, where an unhappy schoolteacher married to a local simpleton fends off the advances of a land-rich widow. Martin Denton says he “can’t remember being so exhilarated at the theatre recently. This is a cultural adventure not to be missed.” – John Del Signore
