No Jacket Required: Spencer Tunick at Four Seasons

032708tunick4.jpgSpencer Tunick and a crowd of volunteer naked people brazenly defied the dress code at the Four Seasons restaurant last Saturday for Tunick’s 75th installation documenting the human form in unexpected places. Other New York locations where Tunick's models have gone au naturale include Grand Central Station and Times Square.

Tunick’s Saturday shoot coincided with the day the Pool Room at the Four Seasons changes its seasonal décor to a Spring theme. This 20X24 photograph was taken with a large scale Polaroid and will be sold at an auction to benefit Free Arts NYC, which for ten years has been bringing art and creative activities to under-served children and families in New York City.

Tickets (starting at $300) and information are available through Free Arts NYC at (212) 974-9092 or online.

Enjoy the bigger NSFW-size version after the jump.

Spencer Tunick has a bad case of jungle fever up in the 4 seaswans

I won't be eating there... ever.

This disgusting phony pornography disguised as art has infiltrated one of the last bastions of reserved culture in New York. The people behind the Four Seasons are pathetic in their quest for media attention and deserve to lose patronage for this aberration to respectability.

This is lame. Isn't it time for the photographer to figure out a new angle. I mean geez, even Christo at least changes it up once in awhile in his attempt at "wrapping" things.

That said, the thought of seeing many obese/overweight or otherwise unattractive individuals lying around in awkward, nude poses is enough to turn my stomach, or in other words, kills any desire to ever eat at that restaurant again.

I think Spencer Tunick would have a larger following if the women in his pictures were actually hot and not fat and disgusting. Another recommendation is to take out the men entirely.

Every time I see one of his 'works', I gag and vomit in my mouth just a little.

Just my French word on it (worth what it is):

I am totally moved and taken by the picture, it is so incredibly beautiful and supernatural... As well as very realistic.

Just like an openned door into a psychic lansdcape from another dreamer.

Thank you, very very much. Made my day brighter than ever !

Sophie

(And please, please, stop vomiting on artwork you poor people, or take pills. It just makes you appear so horrible and disgusting... Who said that sensuality revolved only around sexually attracting bodies, by the way ? How outdated and sad... Did Mom not tell you that you were born naked and covered in dirty matter ? And did she not tell you that YOU were very, very, beautiful and lovable and that she was sooooo fond of every part of your plump little body ? Ah. Poor you.)

at least he's utilizing the last of the polaroid...

I think it's one of his better photographs but his shtick is tired.

i hope those comments about the fat, ugly women were sarcastic.

"Who said that sensuality revolved only around sexually attracting bodies"

Of course not ONLY, but fugliness doesn't help much.

Tunick's a one-trick pony. He needs to get a new schtick.

Kojak:

Oh yes, god forbid we should EVER see a naked fat person! Or, heavens, a naked MAN! Why, our eyes could simply fall right out of their sockets! You are prude of the day, sir.

The guy in the middle went home and died with a smile on his face!
