THEATER: Itamar Moses’s play The Four of Us may or may not be about the envy he suppressed when his friend Jonathan Safran Foer made millions off of Everything Is Illuminated. Actually, it almost certainly is; Moses declined our request for comment, but Vanity Fair does a pretty good job of connecting the dots. Charles Isherwood’s review in the Times today doesn’t bother with the roman a clef aspects of the play, which concerns two aspiring writers “and their egos.” Isherwood deems it “a clever if modest study of the strains that success can put on a sturdy friendship.” – John Del Signore

7:30 p.m. // Manhattan Theater Club Stage 2 [City Center, West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Ave.] // Tickets cost $50.
