Tourist and locals alike may be interested in this tiny map: a wallet-sized guide of over 250 public toilet locations in Manhattan. Creator Tommy Mintz says, "The New York City Public Toilet Map was unveiled on Uncle Bob's Variety Show at the Jewish Museum as part of the Off the Wall: Artists at work. After the presentation, a mob gathered at the edge of the stage to buy copies of the map!" The NY Times reports that at age 21, Mintz "received a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, a condition that is caused by inflammation and sores in the lining of the rectum and colon, and causes frequent diarrhea." So the map is a combination of art and necessity for him.
It's only $2.50 (including shipping) and you can buy it on Etsy; it would be a wise purchase for those getting around on bike. Of course, those with more advanced technology can access a similar map on their phone.

Slow news day?
I love it. Can you post the whole thing low res?
Not the most useless piece of printed matter. Pretty helpful if you walk alot and are too broke to make a purchase everyplace you go to warrant your use of the facilities. I'll concede with great diffidence; Starbucks has at least helped this aspect of NYC getting-about.
one of the best things about being a member of ny sports club (or any other gym with lots of locations) is that you can use their bathrooms! assuming you have one of the memberships that allows you to enter at all times, that is.

Ick.
why is this particularly good for those getting around on bikes? it's not like subway stations have workable restrooms (and if they did, I don't think anyone would dare use them)
It appears that this map should be renamed the Manhattan Public Toilet Map to be totally accurate.
This is funny because Jews love to talk about going to the bathroom.
the subway stations ARE public toilets.
i haven't heard Jews talk about shit & piss more than others
A really helpful map would tell me all the free Wi-Fi spots.
