Last Night's Action: Islanders Officially Eliminated

  • Flyers 4, Islanders 1: Just one month ago, the Islanders were in the thick of the playoff race. Sunday night, they were officially eliminated from playoff contention. Flyers goalie Martin Biron is a perfect 6-0 against the Islanders and stopped 32 of New York's shots last night. Backup goalie Joey MacDonald made his first start of the season for the Islanders in the loss and allowed three of the Flyers goals on the power play.
  • Cardinals 14, Mets 4: That new delivery didn't work so well for Orlando Hernandez in his first spring outing. El Duque was scheduled to pitch 5 innings, but only lasted 3, giving up 5 runs on 4 hits.
  • Pirates 8, Yankees 0: This score would probably never happen in the regular season, but the Yankees didn't send most of their starters to Bradenton for the game.

Praise xenu!

Now I pray the Flyers do the same.

Lets go Rangers!

The Mets looked sloppy behind El Duque, I know they'll field better when the games count.

Why does the Gothamist insist on covering this minor sport called hockey which only Canadians and some rabid idiots care about???

thank goodness they cover hockey! Keep it up!
