S.I. Bones May Be Connected to Missing NJ Woman

2008_03_survideo.jpgThe search for a missing NJ woman led the police to a pond in the Charleston section of Staten Island, where a suitcase of bones were found. The bones are undergoing DNA testing to see if it's a match for Amy Giordano, who vanished last June.

Brooklyn resident Rosario DiGirolamo was charged with the Giordano's murder. DiGirolamo, who is married, was involved with 27-year-old Giordano and they had a young son, who was found abandoned in a hospital parking lot two days after her disappearance.

The couple and 11-month-old were seen on a supermarket surveillance video (pictured) in June, and prosecutors believe DiGirlamo killed Giordano a few days later and had enough evidence for a judge to give them a murder warrant, in spite of not having Giordano's body.

John Russo, a Staten Island resident, was also charged with evidence tampering. His lawyer said Russo was working with authorities, "Based on his cooperation and their own investigation, they were led to this area on Staten Island." DiGirolamo's lawyer says his client, who faces up to 30 years in jail, is ready to defend himself against the charge.

This sounds like a plot-line on Desperate Housewives.

Looks like he had plenty of motives to commit the crime. The saddest part is that their poor child is now in foster care.

missing bone connected to jersey woman? spitzer?

With crimes like this, Law & Order will always have fresh material. As long as there is crime, L&O is never going off the air. I sure the producers read this story like "YESSSSSSSS, we have our next episode!"
