Spitzer Reportedly a Socks-on John

2008_03_socksspitz.jpgAccording to the tabloids (and the Miami Herald), apparently, former Governor Spitzer would not only solicit high-priced call girls in Florida but that he'd keep his black mid-calf socks on during the deed. Take that, NY Times story about finding the good in Spitzer's term as Governor!

Of course, these socking claims come from GOP operative Roger Stone, who may or may not have left a rude voicemail on Spitzer's dad's phone, calling Eliot a "phony, psycho piece of s---". Stone's lawyer apparently sent a letter to the FBI in November:

"The governor has paid literally tens of thousands of dollars for these services [in Florida]. It is Mr. Stone's understanding that the governor paid not with credit cards or cash but through some pre-arranged transfer,'' the letter said.

''It is also my client's understanding from the same source that Governor Spitzer did not remove his mid-calf length black socks during the sex act. Perhaps you can use this detail to corroborate Mr. Stone's information."

Some think Stone was involved with Spitzer's stunning fall, but the FBI would not confirm whether it had received the letter. Stone's past Florida work includes "shutting down the 2000 presidential election recount effort in Miami-Dade County"; he was also fired from Bob Dole's 1996 presidential campaign "after Stone and his wife placed a personal ad in a swingers magazine looking for a threesome."

Ok this is just getting gross now.

Ugh. Who cares.

Leave it to the media to burn the story out.

meanwhile in other news...

RATING CLIENT 9

So Kristen, how'd he do?

Was he an all-strikes bowler?

"He's awesome, he's strong, he's deep--

An effing steamroller!"

Wow, so If I get Roger Stone right, this is another GOP Operation to shut down a NON GOP Governor??

Shocking...

I love how people can simultaneously think the GOP is a bunch of idiots and at the same time attribute everything that goes wrong to them.

Is it that hard for conspiracy theorists to imagine that a GOP or Democratic politician does something stupid /illegal leading to downfall, that doesn't involve a politically motivated conspiracy?

New York still has a non GOP governor, so if it was a GOP conspiracy, it didn't work so well.

Spitzer's fall is his own fault.

cold feet eh?

"I love how people can simultaneously think the GOP is a bunch of idiots and at the same time attribute everything that goes wrong to them."

I think most people who call the GOP stupid are doing so because they disagree with their policies. Just about everyone on this planet does the same thing when they butt heads with someone who does not have the same views. This would explain how someone can be 'stupid' and yet 'brilliant' enough to come up with devious plans to undermine the competition.

A better analogy would be to look at Wile E. Coyote's attempts to snag the Road Runner. Some think the coyote is brilliant for the schemes he comes up with to trap the speedy bird, and others think he's stupid to keep trying when everything he has done has failed. It just depends on your viewpoint.
