Roller Skating Returns to Coney Island!

After nearly a year without roller-skating, the pastime returned to Coney Island with the opening of the Lola Staar Dreamland Roller Rink yesterday. The star-studded event - Marissa Tomei, Ashanti, and of course Lola Staar (aka Dianna Carlin) were there - looked like a grand ole time. The portable roller-rink is located in the Childs Restaurant Building at 21st St. and the Boardwalk, where Carlin believes she can reach an agreement to use the building until a permanent tenant is found.

Thanks to Patch for sending this link---

Effective land use by the people. What could be wrong with that?
Great idea. I love Coney.

Re: Land use---more people should become aware of Henry George and his philosophies. Google---Progress & Poverty.

Where in Ohio is this Lola Staar (aka Dianna Carlin) broad from?

Marisa Tomei still looks great at 44. Now there's Miss Brooklyn for you.

Is anyone involved with Coney Island actually from Brooklyn or New York City for that matter? Gothamist a little research shows that this was a Tommy Hilfiger contest about winning your dreams or some nonsense so while it may appear to be a Lola Staar rink this doesn't happen without Hilfiger. More of a Hilfiger stunt than anything else.
