Clemens' Steroid Trainer Hits City Bus

2008_03_mtabus.jpgThe sports trainer who claimed he gave steroids to Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite and other baseball players hit two vehicles, including a city bus, yesterday. McNamee apparently blacked out.

The Daily News reports that around 12:30 p.m., McNamee was on Central Avenue, near Beach 11th in Far Rockaway, "when he rear-ended another car and careened into the bus head-on." McNamee told police his diabetes caused him to faint and next thing he knew he "woke up in front of a bus."

No one was seriously injured (five people were on the bus) though the driver of the rear-ended car had neck pain and was taken to a hospital. No charges were filed; a witness told the News it didn't seem as though McNamee was drunk.

if i have a broken arm it's illegal for me to drive, why are people with life threatening illnesses, allowed to drive?

diabetes, strokes, seizures etc?

If we don't allow diabetics to drive, we'd have some empty roadways.

"if i have a broken arm it's illegal for me to drive, why are people with life threatening illnesses, allowed to drive?"

Because that would be discriminatory, especially if the illness can be controlled with medication.

Diabetus kills.

If I'm not mistaken, diabetes only causes you to faint if you don't medicate yourself properly. How can someone with as much access to needles as this guy not medicate himself properly? Jeez!
