Anytime Could Go at Any Time?

200803anytime.jpgWhile Anytime in Williamsburg isn't actually open at any time, their doors swing freely when a hipster craves a jalepeño popper just before sunrise. So news of their possible demise is sending panic to those who crave post-imbibing tater tots and stormy night cigarette deliveries.

Word is that "in the past few days, the familiar Anytime sign has been removed and replaced by an even more-familiar 'Commercial Space for Rent / Capri Jet Realty Corp' placard." While staffers laughed off the possibility of the joint closing, saying the owner is simply renting out commercial space (something the rental company also noted), the big question remains: why was the Anytime sign taken down?

i never went in but back in the clocks-and-orange-decor era, i always thought it was a check-cashing shop :)

i know loads of black hipsters.

    where do they go?

  • palestine

I just walked by an hour ago. Looked pretty open to me.

  • alx

haha. i worked there one summer--when it just had a bunch of clocks up on the wall and a weird orange and white waiting room decor. everyone who worked there was very nice, but pretty much anyone who came in/called after 2 was invariably drunk, an asshole, or both. it was a real eye-opener to the changing demographic of the neighborhood...i can only imagine the dickheads you have to deal with now! dealing with those dunk dregs of humanity i wouldn't wish on anyone, anytime!

Push the hipsters into the sea and give the land back to the Jews, the blacks and whatever other real people used to live in Williamsburg.

24 hour bagels and lox? That might tempt me to move to new york.

  • Jen S

When I lived within that radius, the service was inconsistent. There were nights when no one answered the phone, and another night we'd definitely waited too long for delivery.

Isn't Bagelsmith 24 hours now? Give me lox or give me death!

  • dustyrebel

I thought they closed years ago.

Who cares...That place has the worst food in town. Everything tasted like soggy cardboard.

  • meganificent

still, we need an option in the 'hood that will deliver late night. when it's 4am, who cares that it's nasty... also, they delivered everywhere up into bushwick, greenpt & south williamsburg. more places need to have that kind of delivery radius.

  • Jen S

    Anytime sucks. Good riddance.

  • meowster

this place is beyond nast- the food for delivery, the food for eating in, the food, the drinks, the place. i thought it had closed down already. anyway...BA-BYE!

Jen- Do you proof before you post? Re-read your line:

:Williamsburg isn't actually open at any time, their doors swing freely anytime a hipster craves a jalepeño popper just just before sunrise"

    1. Okay if, its not open anytime, that means the door is never open. So a "hipster" can't come in to get anything if it is never open any time.

    2. "just just"

    This is just ADD writing...

  • moocowtoo

I've no idea why a place that looks as fine as this would possibly close; escapes the mind.

  • brooklynbs

Disgusting food, horrible service. Haven't eaten something from there in over five years. Glad to see it go. Next!
