Map of the Day: Where to Watch March Madness

2008_03_ncaamap.jpg

You've got your bracket filled out for the NCAA Tournament and you wanna cheer on the team you picked to win it all. But where does one go to root with like-minded fans? A new map from Mapfaced solves your problem! They have a list of 33 schools and the corresponding bars that will welcome your Carolina Blue, chant "Hoya Saxa!" with you, or enjoy your off-key singing of "On, Wisconsin!" Mapfaced even has the schools listed by tournament region for ease of use.

So whether your team (be it your alma mater or the one you chose to win the tournament) makes it to San Antonio or not, you can cheer them on for at least one game. And if you're a fan of a school not listed, you could always go to your opponent's bar instead of watching at home. Because everybody loves that guy.

The tournament starts tonight with Coppin State and Mount St. Mary's in the opening round game (aka the play-in game); the winner will play North Carolina when March Madness begins in earnest on Thursday.

  • Anyone know whether a map like this exist for San Francisco? I am heading out there and looking for a good spot to watch Villanova and Syracuse in March Madness. A friend of mine said Jake's Steaks in the Marina is a good spot for those 2 teams. I probably go there, but do want to see what other options are in town as well.

March Madness is a 2-week detour on the road to baseball.

I'm hoping that Mt. St. Mary's wins tonight's play-in and ends up facing St. Mary's in the final. Of course, the chances of that happening are, oh, zero or thereabouts.
