Two separate incidents Brooklyn resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man on a Brownsville sidewalk, a nine-year-old girl wounded, and a 13-year-old boy clinging to life. Police are investigating whether the shot that struck the nine-year-old girl in the arm yesterday was related to the shooting that killed Robert Morgan two blocks away in Brownsville.
The girl was apparently hit by an errant bullet that crashed through a window in a family's fifth-floor apartment. Although the girl was in shock following the shooting, she is in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Jamar Bethune was arrested and charged in the shooting of a young teenager on Thursday. The separate shooting on Thursday, also in Brooklyn, was reportedly the result of a teenager "horsing around" with a gun. The 13-year-old victim, Marquis Perez, was visiting friends with his cousin, when 18-year-old Jamar Bethune produced a pistol and placed it against the boy's temple; Bethune then pulled the trigger. Doctors at Kings County Hospital said that the boy is alive, but brain dead.
Bethune was arrested and charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal possession of a weapon. Police are still investigating whether the incident was an accident or not. The victim's cousin claimed that Bethune did not know the gun was loaded. WNBC news reports that Bethune has been arrested twice in the past year on drug and weapons charges.

Teenagers growing up thinking a loaded gun is a fun toy to play with.
It's disgusting how teenagers feel like the gangsta lifestyle makes them look cool and tough to other people.
Stupid moolies just whacking each other. Shame kids got hurt. Say a rosary for them.
Somehow I bet this is a white man's fault. Yo, NYT! Where you at, fools?
can i say it? Darwin award.
I just don't get it. Guns are illegal in NYC -- and very hard to own legally -- yet somehow gun crimes keep occurring. Am I to believe that gun control laws aren't being obeyed by these criminals? Say it ain't so!
Only hipsters can save the ghetto.. Skateboards and skinny jeans will do what MLK and Malcolm couldn't.. Brownsville is still close to the L train. Let the gentrification begin!
Where's Al Sharpton?
