It is unfortunate that the USA or any other country will not boycott the Olympics. Lets not be naive, the countries of this world are controlled by the bottom line. Corporations will always control trade and governments and 30 dead Tibetans is an acceptable amounts of deaths. Each sponsor of the Olympics has to decide how many dead Tibetans will be their limit before they pull out. Now all we need to see is what that limit is. I think if we reach a 1,000 dead we will see some sponsors pulling out. If it gets to 2,000 dead we will see some of the more liberal countries start to boycott China and the Olympics. Unfortunately I don't think the USA will boycott China until that number reaches 10,000. The USA Corporations are dependent on cheap, inferior, tainted and corrupt Chinese goods. It may sound morbid but if the Tibetans really want the world to notice they need to sacrifice more human lives for their cause.
