A razor blade technically isn't a shiv. Also, you can very easily slip one along the inner cheek wall and keep it there without cutting yourself, then extract it quickly by blowing it into your hand. A lot of gang member learn how to do this by starting with dulled-down blades and then moving up to sharp ones.
