Guys, if you'll read that article I linked to, you'll see the little "list" of "new sins" mentioned here was actually not some formulation put out by the Vatican, at all. It was formulated (read: "created") by a British newspaper from paraphrasing a translation of an interview given to an Italian newspaper by a Vatican official. (Wow, if that wasn't convoluted to type out... >>) And the official, Archbishop Girotti, wasn't even talking about "new" sins. He was speaking about the dropping numbers of catholics who go to the sacrament of Confession. And during the interview he mentioned problems in the modern age, like the increased use of birth control which is a sin and increasing poverty. What he said wasn't new nor was it meant to be. What Mattalexto said back in reply 25 was correct. Those "sins" the media came up with out of the interview do correspond to the seven deadlies. The point is, there was no attempt to put out some new formulation of new sins. That was a trumped up thing the english-speaking newspapers did, while ignoring the real point of the interview. I mean seriously, what person who follows catholicism at all doesn't already know the church considers birth control to be immoral? Its not new and the archbishop wasn't putting forth some new list. The media did to gain some buzz. And congrats cus all you who believed it just got suckered. (This article we are all commenting on is particularly cutesy because its first line is a lie. "The Vatican has just issued a list of seven new "social" sins." No. No, it didn't. As proved by the real story reported in that link I provided and other articles to be found that actually provide provable facts to back up their story.)

We're going back to Dark Ages. #10 we just did, with the new interpretation of these "mortal" sins for the modern world. The last time the 7 deadly sins were reviewed/created was in the 1500's. Congrats goes out to the Catholic Church for making up more sins to make more people feel guilty. Maybe that will increase their attendence.
