Elote's sandwich de barbacoa is unbelievable, as are several of the other brunch options (for $11, with coffee & booze!)

Go there before 10pm or after 12am for the happy hour drinks (they have perfect margaritas) & some really amazing food. I think the chef's name is jeff cohen... he's a bit gruff, but goddamn gifted. I can't recommend this place enough.

Are fish tacos some special Mexican thing or am I a stoonad?

That's a false dichotomy. Fish tacos originated along the Baja Peninsula and are very popular in southern California. And, yes, you are a stoonad.

I don't care about the food, but those pictures are quite a bit better than most prior "Camera in the Kitchen" photos. Is there a new photographer?
