The last time we checked in with the latest flock of Next Top Models they were posing as homeless women, with homeless women. Seems they disrespected their $6 million Tribeca loft, too...turning it into a hot mess.
The NY Post reports that the 14 wannabe models are accused of trashing the loft (located at 39 Lispenard Street) where they lived for 10 weeks. They moved out 3 weeks ago, leaving the landlord to tally up the damages.
Not only did the crew damage the ceiling for lighting purposes, they reportedly ruined the Brazilian hardwood floors, too. An insider says the ladies "had food fights. There's ketchup and coffee splattered all over the landlord's $20,000 white drapes. There's lipstick on the walls. They moved in furniture and made holes all along the walls." An overabundance of water in the bathroom led to mold and $90K worth of damage in the electrical store on the ground floor, and a $15K chandelier was totaled! Now that's not very lady like.
All in all, estimated damages are about $500,000 -- but so far the show (who hasn't even coughed up the $1500 for the electric bill) has offered to settle for a mere $125,000.

i can't really decide who i want to root against more: tyra banks and one of her awful, apocalypse-signaling tv shows or the owner of an overpriced tribeca building. is there some sort of resolution that can be worked out where all parties lose?
oh whatever. 500k? They're totally milking the fact that a TV show was in their place.
Out of curiosity, why do the images sometimes change on the site? Is it because a better one is found, or there was some issue with the first one?
america's next top model? talk about false advertising. I don't think being in delia catalogues is ground for being called a "TOP" model. American Idol is basically America's best karaoke singer and Celebrity Apprentice has Stephen Baldwin in it as a "celebrity". There is nothing celebrated, top, or anything worth idolatry in these shows.
Don't they got insurance?
Those damages sound totally inflated. THere's probably a reason for the discrepancy of the settlement offer.
This article is getting in the way of things I want to read!
Out of curiousity, who the hell hangs $20,000 drapes?
If just one of the girls inadvertently ingested some of the food-fight food, then it was totally worth it.
whatever 20,000 drapes and 15,000 lamp, in my humble opinion the landlord get what he deserves. The girls were on a stupid, and I do stress stupid, TV show, and they wanted to act like rock stars. Who paid for the hotel rooms when Mötley Crüe destroyed them? This is the question I ask.
"they reportedly ruined the Brazilian hardwood floors"
eh ... who needs the rain forest anyway.
Apparently the next asshole who was scheduled to rent the Tribeca loft. All I'm concerned about is that they ensure all these 'irreplacable' items are paid for and replaced. Fuck.
Brazilian hardwood floors? How many indigenous tribes were raped to get that floor? I say Tyra pay them nothing.
