A Calm Start to the Week

Of the four seasons, it is winter that departs most grudgingly. And that was an intense wind late Saturday night! Western New York and Ohio beared the brunt of the weekend storm, with Columbus receiving a record 20 inches. Across the Atlantic our weekend storm is now striking the UK, which was reeling from a weekend storm of their own.
Conditions should be fairly calm for the next few days. A weak high pressure system will bring mostly clear skies today and tomorrow. Today's high will be in the lower 40s and tomorrow's should be in the upper 40s. A quickie cold front Tuesday night might kick off a few snow showers. No accumulations are expected. High pressure will rapidly return during a windy Wednesday. Thursday is looking sunny and warm with a high in the lower 50s.
More springlike weather is expected toward the weekend. It appears as if a low pressure system will pass to our north, bringing us a rainy, but warm, Friday and Saturday.

Saturday's wind storm brought me a gift: a huge blue tarp that somehow landed on my terrace. This thing looks to be at least 20 feet long and I have no idea where it came from. I have to get out there soon and at least roll it up or else it might fly off again and hurt someone.
