Sex Assault Accusation and Call for Drug Screening

A woman's accusation of being drugged and sexually assaulted at a Brooklyn nightclub has led local state senator Eric Adams to call for immediate screening for date rape drugs at hospitals when a woman is brought in an incoherent state. The alleged victim, who appeared at a press conference with Adams dressed to shield her identity, said that she was invited by the owner of the Khrome Bar & Lounge on Atlantic and Washington Aves. to come by along with a friend of hers. The woman remembers going to the bar and having a few drinks and then waking up in a hospital.

She insists that she must have been drugged and that she suspects she was sexually assaulted because she has teeth marks in private places on her body. She is unsure if she was raped or not. Police questioned her at the hospital, but a report was never filed.

State senator Adams says that because there is such a short window of opportunity for date rape drugs to be detected before being metabolized by the body, hospitals should automatically test for them when incoherent women are admitted.

CBS2 News went to Khrome and spoke with the owner, who said he didn't remember the woman specifically, but did recall an extremely inebriated woman drinking and dancing on the night the assault allegedly occurred. He says that he urged the woman be taken to a hospital.

I think someone is describing the textbook definition of radical Islamic gender relations. Any woman who doesn't completely cover herself or chooses to consort publicly or privately with a man or men is basically asking to be raped. If women just stayed covered up and isolated, they wouldn't have to worry about being sexually assaulted. Otherwise, anything that happens to them is their own fault and they should bear the punishment for being such slutty whores.

she's not a victim. If you go into the lion's den and get bit, isn't it your fault? If I go to Harlem at 11 at night and wave around a wad of cash yelling "You guys can't rob my rich ass cause it's against the law!" and I get robbed isn't it my fault? If a woman dresses like a slut and goes to a bar with the intention of getting a man's attention and intoxicated but gets a predator isn't that her fault?

The first definition of the word alleged is asserted to be true. My use of the word was not meant to cast doubt on her claims.

Why is she an "alleged" victim? Alleged perpetrators are innocent until proven guilty, but since when do victims need to prove their innocence? How would this story differ if it hadn't happened in this 'hood?
