Rain, Rain Goes Away - But Winds are Here

After the past two days of flood watches and warnings amid pouring rain, things are a bit brighter today. But there is a high wind warning.

As WABC 7's AccuWeather says, it'll be "42 degrees but because of biting wind feel-like temperatures will be in 20s-30s." Which is a lot cooler than yesterday's high of 57 degrees. There were a number of power outages yesterday in NYC, NJ and Long Island, including one at a Staten Island nursing home where the backup generators didn't work, and there may be more if winds knock trees into power lines. Another thing to watch out for: Scaffolding collapses - some scaffolding outside a West Village building fell yesterday (luckily no one was injured).

Don't forget to give the New York Times building a wide berth.
