Last Night's Action: Nate Was Great, But....

2006_11_sknickslogo.jpg

  • Portland 120 Knicks 114 (OT): The Knicks went into this game shorthanded, no Zach Randolph, no Eddy Curry, no Jamal Crawford. But, even without three starters they almost pulled out the win thanks to Nate Robinson’s 45-point game. Robinson played an amazing 52 minutes in the game and the Knicks used only eight players, even with the extra period.
  • Mavericks 111 Nets 91: Jason Kidd got his first crack at his old team and he spent the night dishing the ball. Kidd finished with 13 assists, a lot of them to Dirk Nowitski, who scored 34, and Dallas cruised to an easy win.
  • Devils 2 Toronto 1: It’s an old hockey adage, when in doubt, put the puck on net. Zach Parise did just that as he threw the puck at the net and then jammed it in when the Toronto goalie couldn’t freeze it. Parise’s effort gave the Devils the win and kept them on top of the Eastern Conference.
  • Philadelphia 4 Islanders 1: The playoff spot keeps getting further away. New York couldn’t contain the Flyers’ power play. All four Philadelphia goals came with an extra man and the Islanders went 0-5 when they had the advantage.
