How to Dress Like Brooklyn

The NY Times looks at some of New York's indie elite in their Men's Style Magazine this weekend. So incase you were wondering what last night's SNL music guests, Vampire Weekend, wear when they aren't decked out in their Columbia University alum apparel, now you know: Marc Jacobs. Or at least that's how The Times translates it.

They include a tip to aspiring designers as well, those "searching for indie cred need look no further than a Pitchfork review. Here, a few rising alt-rockers whose style is as distinctive as their sound." Indie and fashion mixed on the runway this past Fashion Week as well; designers Basso & Brooke and Jens Laugesen soundtracked their shows with Battles, ChloƩ used Santogold, and Abaete used Vampire Weekend.

Also featured in The Times article are Beirut, Grizzly Bear and non-New Yorkers Deerhunter. Visit their closets here

Ooooh, it's like Weezer all over again! How precious, indie, and unique!

Aka how to dress for mugging as soon as you step outside Williamsburg

Hipsters were mocked by King of the Hill last night. I think it was the first time Arlen, TX, seemed similar to Brooklyn, NY.
