I think it works great, gobama, because it avoids alienating a crucial Nov. state without allowing rulebreaking to alter the voting of states who played by the rules.

Obviously, Hillary is acting in her best interest. You think Obama would act differently in her position?

Democrats need to unite as a party and this is a good place to start. I think Obama has got a pretty tight grip on the nomination. If he gave ground on something like this, it might show a capacity to do things for reasons other than pure self-interest.

Oh, btw, Nobody puts Swayze in a coffin!

I think you're neglecting the most important thing:Patrick Swayze "weeks to live"!!!!!!

I think I speak for all of us when I say that a world without Patrick Swayze is not a world I want to live in.

Hillary is too much of a slimeball to be considered on any ticket. I'd vote for her to run into traffic, but that's about it.

I support MJG's proposal. Neither Clinton nor Obama campaigned in Florida and both of their names were on the ballot. Dean is trying too hard to save face when he and the national party should be trying to work with the state parties, and offer to compromise just a little (like footing some of the bill for the revotes). Why can't the Democrats run a decent party?

MJG,

I don't think that your compromise works.

Why should Obama give Clinton Florida? Yes, his name was on the ballot, but he followed the rules and DIDN'T CAMPAIGN THERE. After the shenanigans of the last elections, everyone knows how vital Florida is to win the presidency. Had the primary been in accordance with the rules and had Obama made an effort to campaign there, maybe the results would be different.

You can't change the rules mid-game. There is no way that Clinton would be taking this position is she hadn't have won FL.

I observe that Obama has played the game by the rules from the outset, but that the game doesn't always return the favor, eh?

Watch them go by popular vote, or decide to include the excluded states with no due notice. Just watch.

He could have played by other rules and done just as well, but that's not what will count for the superdelegates if they start favoring Clinton.

This election is hilarious!!!!! watching the Dems smack each other in the face black and blue, i mean white, losing money and speed. This is what the dems get for having too many special interest groups.

Can they possibly fix the primary/delegate selection process sometime soon? This is crazy.

I can solve the MI/FL issue...

1. Re-do MI since only one candidate was on the ballot and have the state and the DNC split the costs.

2. Count FL as voted since both Hillary and Obama were on the ballot.

Hillary gets her Florida win. Obama gets a new election in MI. Each candidate gets something without really losing anything in the delegate count.

We call it a compromise.

The Farrakhan smear and the Midnite Call ads were the last straw. I'm crossing Hilary Clinton off my list even if she beats Obama. She's just another politician who'll take us all down with her in the struggle to glorify her own ego.
