Gothamist: City Struggles to Reduce Glut of Parking Placards

I live near the Pitt St police station/firehouse, and the streets around it are totally clogged by illegally parked cars with placards. Cars are parked on the sidewalks and into the intersection. The curb cuts are blocked, making it impossible for a wheelchair to pass (an ADA violation?) and very difficult for a stroller or wheeled cart to get by. I would complain, but do I really want the NYPD to have my name for something like that?
