Torre and Randolph, Both Outta Pinstripes

Okay, Mets manager Willie Randolph hasn't been in pinstripes for a while, but this photograph of him saying hi to new Dodgers manager Joe Torre just seems like something from the bizarro world - not that there's anything wrong with that! Randolph, who was a Yankees coach under Torre, said, "It was a little strange, a little different. But I told him, 'You look good in any uniform.'"

Torre looked tanned in his blue polo shirt and fielded questions about his old team, "I certainly have no regrets. I think change was probably best for both parties," and said he expected to talk to new Yankees coach Joe Girardi during the season. He added he chatted with Randolph during the Mets' late season collapse, "I certainly had a great deal of respect for him last season when he struggled to cross the finish line... In coaching or managing, the thing that makes winning so great is the fact that the danger of losing is lurking. Just like players, experiencing failure helps you to deal with it and move on."

Though the Mets beat the Dodgers, 1-0, Mets right fielder Ryan Church and infielder Marlon Anderson collided during the fourth inning - per the Post, Church had "a Grade 2 concussion, a sore jaw and a lacerated mouth, while Anderson was left with a severely bruised chest.
