Early this morning brides-to-be lined 14th Street in hopes of finding their dream dress at a discount price. The annual wedding dress sale at Filene's Basement, dubbed The Running of the Brides, included around 2500 gowns (of which reportedly zero are left). And every lady wants to find the designer dress with an off-the-rack pricetag, which can be akin to finding a needle in a haystack. Typically dresses go for $249 to $699, and would normally cost around $10,000.

While some attend with little hope except to have some fun, most are there with a plan! NY1 talked to one bride-to-be, who spilled her strategy:
"I had a fabulous team of seven other girls. So I had one helper which is my sister and I had traders and runners. It was my sister-in-law who came up with that idea. So we made some alliances and my friend Kelly actually traded the winning dress for me."
The sale only held once a year in New York (twice in Boston), but if you missed out there will be another one in Paramus, NJ on March 21st. Here are some helpful tips from Filene's on what they call their "old- fashioned bazaar."
