Wife of NYPD Cop Humiliates Him on Fox Reality Show

2008_02_moment.jpgTwenty-six-year-old Lauren Cleari, the slatternly wife of cuckolded New York cop Frank Cleri, has become infamous overnight after humiliating her husband of two years on the Fox reality show “Moment of Truth.” Before going on air, contestants answer intimate questions while hooked up to a lie detector machine; later they answer some of the same questions before a raucous studio mob and their significant others, which in this case included her spouse, parents and a gal pal.

Cleari had accumulated $100,000 by answering 14 questions truthfully, when the host brought out an ex-boyfriend to pose the 15th question: “Do you believe I am the man you should be married to?” A dishonest answer would have cost her the hundred grand, so Cleari answered yes, which was truthful. But instead of walking away with the loot, she opted to keep mortifying her husband for more money.

Question 16 was a doozy: “Since you’ve been married, have you had sex with someone other than your husband?” That would be yes again! The compulsive fornicator was two steps away from $200,000 when she lost it all on question 18, stating she thinks she is a good person – a lie, according to the machine. The magnificent must-see clip from the episode, plus a "where are they now" tabloid follow-up after the jump.

In a sweet bit of cross-platforming, Murdoch’s Post visited the couple in their home, where she said, “We're kind of up in the air right now - I want to [get back together], but I don't think he does.” Her husband sounded devastated: “Everything that was mentioned during this show, we had talked about before… Unfortunately, now they're not just our problems. Everyone knows about it.” One only hopes that this very special episode of Moment of Truth is the only artifact left for future alien archaeologists to discover; at least that way they won’t lose any sleep over our humanity’s demise. (Or will they – it is a pretty addictive show!)

If an alien knocked on my door one day and asked me for evidence of what's wrong with the human race, I'd probably have it watch this show.

if he's smart, he's out real quick like. fk that bitch.

As with almost all 'reality' shows, this just proves that people will do anything for money. Sad and trashy!

for the record, I posted that comment before I read the whole post.

"One only hopes that this very special episode of Moment of Truth is the only artifact left for future alien archaeologists to discover; at least that way they won’t lose any sleep over our humanity’s demise."

If you can't make money from your problems, then what good is life?

National humiliation + cop with a gun = trouble.

Wow....that was just uncomfortable to watch.

I feel terrible for the guy...anyone know what precinct he works in?

@mdowning; i couldnt agree more. crap like this and the morons that lap it up makes me loose faith in humanity by the moment.

I don't feel sorry for anybody in this situation. They agreed to be on this stupid show, let them reap the rewards.

I don't believe that this show is "real" in any way.

Nice suburban Italian mama's boy marries fast and loose daughter of a cop, Colleen. Poor guy had no idea what he was in for.

Wantagh must be buzzing.

She is kind of cute.

The show takes way too long for each question, and some of the questions, like "do you think you are a good person?" don't really lend themselves to a yes/no response. There should also be some baseline payment suckers get for this kind of humiliation. Even Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, you would only drop to a certain level.

I have a feeling that that picture of her might be the only one of her with her legs closed.

for a sec I misread cuckolded as cockolded, would seem to fit in this case. isn't cockold the practice of watching other men bang your wife?

akachris is right, she's a dead woman.
(i'd hit it, behind his back)

so awful. i agree with akachris - this will not end well.

I like that she lost it all anyway.

I don't believe for a second that this wasn't orchestrated between Lauren and Frank well in advance. No real, feeling person would be able to sit up there in his seat if he was truly blindsided by the stunt. Plus, when she went back to her family, it looked like she had an "oops! oh well." posture. And Frank was consoling her. What the hell??

I am VERY VERY glad that shake-n-bake floozy lost every cent.

I wish I was a divorce attorney, right now...think of the easy case this one would be!

Oddly, she seems to have signed up for Facebook about 2 hours ago!

Even better, her date of birth is seven years older than what she apparently told the producers of the show!

nice catch on the bday. I think she said she was 26 on the show, and my first response was she looked mid-30s to me. Maybe I was right.

maybe his gun will have an "accidental discharge"

as long as people are willing to go on these type of shows they will keep making them

We don't know who would be stupider - those who watch a Fox reality show or those who are on a Fox reality show. Perhaps it is a draw.

Any pity I have for this guy is cancelled out by the fact that he was attracted to this kind of woman to the point that he MARRIED her.

The bleached hair should have tipped him off.

First of all, props to John Del Signore for dropping slatternly on Gothamist. It is WAY underused in discourse today. Great word!

I'm not sure what might be more of a threat to America, though. This ''lady'' or the frozen bagel that comes with the cream cheese already in it.

I think you all missed the best part. From Moment of Truth's website:

"These were the questions that would have been asked if the contestants continued:
February 25th episode
Lauren
Do you think you are your parents' favorite child?"

I think she was honest, and her husband was stupid to be in such denial. Maybe it took complete humiliation for him to wake up! Obviously they weren't happy, and this was her way of making a clean break. She wasn't in it for the money, or she'd have been way more disappointed with losing it all when she finally did. She was pretty philosophical about it.

I think there are people out there who are determined to make her seem like a monster when her husband is obviously an idiot. He did not have to participate in this show. Nobody forced him. He didn't have to consent. She's not a bad person, even if she apparently can't believe it.

And what's so slatternly? Such judgemental people you all are!
She stuck to the deal, she wasn't just some big meany.

i was force to watch the last few mins of this horrid show. I was waiting for the terminator show.

anyway if i was the husban i would of shot her on the spot! made a ass out of him.

Dumb ho, dumb cop. No sympathy WHATSOEVER.

I dunno for a 100G I'd probably subject myself to the indignity of reality TV for a night, I see no shame in that.

As for that dude... damn that sucks. He didn't seem like a complete douchebag. He's probably all the better for it. At least now he knows. And as GI Joe always said... Knowing is half the battle.

"She's not a bad person, even if she apparently can't believe it.

And what's so slatternly? Such judgemental people you all are!
She stuck to the deal, she wasn't just some big meany."

WTF!?!?
She cheated on her husband and told a national TV audience about it! For money! And then she lost it all by saying she's not a....wait for it...wait for it..."BAD PERSON!"

"...what's so slatternly?"
"...wasn't just some big meany" ?

What's more slatternly than adultery? What's meaner than telling your partner about it on tv? For money?

She IS a bad person. I'm not normally judgemental, but then, it's not normally this easy.

She. A. Ho.

Perfect! What a great ending.

Hope she still thinks she's a good person. Obviously she has an inflated perspective of herself.

it was for the best. the woman resembles the two wives who recently shot and killed their firefighter/police husbands.

it was just a matter of time before she gained another hundred pounds and eventually shot him after one too many remarks about jiffy pop shape and hamburgler moustache.

he didn't look to shaken up by her revelation. he's most likely banging a hood rat from the outer boroughs during his street patrol shifts.
most likely he can't last more than a minute in bed though.

I am sorry to say but I think that had Lauren won the money she has been prepared to leave Frank. I think that her love for Frank is very questionable an I think that if Frank does not get out of the relationship now Lauren will be entitled to half his pension as well as many other things. That copy of Lauren saying she cheated on her husband on a moment of truth will be enough for a divorce.

This is very hurtful to Frank and now as a cop he has to face the world on patrol with these facts about his marriage out there. How very stupid of her to go on tv an admit these truths.
