New DVD Allows Fans to Relive Giants' Super Bowl Win
If you can't get enough of the Giants winning Super Bowl XLII, we've got some good news for you...the Super Bowl XLII DVD is out today!
While the DVD has a runtime of nearly three hours, it doesn't contain the whole game. What you do get from the DVD is a recap of the entire Giants season, culminating with highlights from the Super Bowl (without Joe Buck, if that's how you like it).
The DVD also features highlights from the playoffs, profiles on Michael Strahan, Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning, and Mathias Kiwanuka, footage from the halftime show and from media day. However, one fan-Amazon commenter who saw the DVD laments, "I REALLY wish they had included footage of Tom Brady laughing about Plaxico's '17 points' prediction. Hey Tom: you done got punched in the mouth."
So if you have the game recorded on your DVR or on tape, don't delete it. The New York Giants Championship DVD can't replace it. What the DVD can do is allow any Giants fan to relive the Championship season. And you can get it gift wrapped.

I got the actual entire games on High Definition 720p from a torrent. Imagine that, you get a far superior product for free than one that you pay for. I love technology
I am getting mine for free for renewing my SI subscription. Sadly, no football phone. Almost a month later and I still can't believe this friggin happened.
I read that there's only highlights from the game, not the entire game. That's lame.
Where's the Blu-ray version ? It was shot in 720/1080p. My PS3/HDTV is waiting.
Seriously. I downloaded the same file from the torrent that #1 got, but I want this sucker on Blu-ray!
What would be REALLY sweet is a DVD set with every Giants playoff game included in its entirety. I'd buy that.
I have the Green Bay game on DVD after I transferred it from VHS. I have the Superbowl on DVD recorded from a 720p DVR to a standard DVD recorder (so it's digital but not really 720p -- converted to regular DVD format). I would love to get the Dallass game on DVD somehow.
Let's see, I also just got done transferring the 1990 NFC Championship Game, the 1986 NFC Championship Game and Superbowl XXV from VHS to DVD. The only other game I'm missing that I really want is the 1986 Superbowl. Actually, I would love to have the 1986 49-3 playoff game over the Niners too. Maybe I should start checking out torrents for those.
NFL Network is showing the playoff games this Sunday. I think they will be showing the complete games. You need satellite to get NFL network, though.
