EVENT: It's like a never-ending President's Day this week; tonight enjoy a satirical discussion about the one and only George Washington. Marvin Kitman of the Huffington Post will celebrate our very first President as what would have been his 276th birthday fastly approaches. Amongst other things, Kitman will attempt to explain just how of GW was elected.

022008paradisepark.jpgTHEATER: In an interview with Gothamist, Charles Mee said his play Paradise Park is about how Americans have become "unconscious prisoners of a vast, distracting amusement park.” The third and concluding production in Signature’s Charles Mee season is a colorful “collage-like journey” through “this bizarre carnival of life, inhabited by a ventriloquist, his dummy, and a teenage girl on the run. From Futureworld to Londonland, the Grand Canyon to Fred's Polynesian Dive Shop, step right up to this wild ride of fruit cake tosses, underwater ballets, square dances, and star gazing, too.” If this far out video montage is any indication, you'd do well to buy the ticket, take the ride. MUSIC: Remember Ambulance LTD? The Brooklyn band seemed to be on their way to making it big and then with no warning they disappeared. After going through what they described as their own "saga," they are now returning. Tonight they play Union Hall with The End of the World.

COMEDY: The famed annual Vanity Fair Oscars party is back on! Sort of. Okay, not really. But come to the Uncanceled Vanity Fair Pre-Post-Oscar Night Bash tonight. Bask in the comedy of Julie Klausner, Jackie Clarke, Michelle Collins, Kurt Braunohler, Hot Sauce, and Todd Barry! Buy tickets here.
