  • Islanders 4 Philadelphia 3: It has been a long three weeks since the Islanders last won. A seven-game losing streak came to a very satisfying end Tuesday night as New York came out firing against the Flyers.

Trent Hunter got things going with a goal at 17:42 of the first. The Flyers tied it up in the second, but the Islanders took the lead and built it on two beautiful goals. Jeff Tambellini took advantage of a bad Philadelphia turnover to put the Isles back in front. Sean Bergenheim got a semi-breakaway off of a feed from Trent Hunter to make it 3-1. Philadelphia cut it to 3-2, but Rusian Fedotenko put the game out of reach with his 10th goal of the year.

  • Nets 92 Minnesota 88: It wasn’t pretty, but the Nets managed to pull out a victory. Vince Carter scored 17 points and dished out 10 assists while Richard Jefferson had 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Nets now head to Toronto for a game tonight.

Thank goodness! You think with 47 shots something good come of it. Their effort showed, and hopefully they recover from their horrendous losign streak.
