After a competitive Super Tuesday matchup, Barack Obama has swept three states having Democratic contests. So far, it looks like Obama has won the Nebraska primary over Hillary Clinton 68% to 32%, the Washington primary 68% to 31% and the Louisiana caucus 55% to 38% (with 82% of the precincts reporting).
CNN is projecting that Obama will get 74 delegates from tonight's wins, while Clinton will get 29. Right now, the AP is projecting that Clinton has 1,064 delegates and Obama has 1,029. Of course, a big wild card is how superdelegates will throw their support - they are being intensely courted by both Democratic candidates. Next up, the Maine caucus tomorrow. Obama was in Bangor, Maine yesterday, working the crowd into a frenzy when he said, "I am looking forward to having a debate with John McCain."
As for the Republicans, appears that Mike Huckabee may be victorious in the Kansas caucus, and he's leading the Louisiana primary and Washington caucus. He said, "I didn't major in math. I majored in miracles, and I still believe in them." Some are calling this a major stumble for John McCain, to lose right after his Super Tuesday wins, and others suggest Huckabee could win more Southern states.
And Clinton's campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe revealed $10 million had been raised since Super Tuesday; per CNN, he suggested "many donors had been unaware the campaign was facing a cash crunch" and added that Clinton staffers were getting their salaries.

This country needs a change (this is just my oppinion and I am not even an american..) and I think that Obama is who can give the best one.
Blah. I don't feel him.
I like how the republican party, foxnews and the NY post totally support Obama and are afraid as hell of hilary. They will support him until he wins the primaries and then throw all the dirt at him once Hilary is gone. They know he doesn't stand a chance against republican voters if he wins and he'll fragment the democractic side. Hilary might win some republican women but obama won't. And for everyone believing that Obama can win, good luck. It'll take something disastrous like john mccain being a pedophile for obama to win. who are you going to vote for? a liberal republican like Mccain is gonna win a lot of democratic votes who don't want to vote for hilary or obama.
time for hilary to pull another crying act ! maybe pimp out bill too, if he's not busy with his cigars.
a liberal republican like McCain..."
Where does this crazy idea that McCain is a liberal, or even moderate, Republican come from? John McCain is one of the most conservative Republicans in the Senate. The only people more conservative than McCain are the reality-denying wackos, those that think global warming is a hoax, gay marriage will somehow ruin traditional marriage, that don't accept evolution and believe the world was literally created in seven days six thousand years ago, that support abstinence-only sex education, etc.
If anyone thinks that McCain is in any way liberal or moderate I would urge them to dig a little deeper into his record and platform.
Obama and Clinton must be hoping that Huckabee gets the Republican nomination. McCain could well give the Democratic candidate quite a challenge, while a religion nut-hugger like Huckabee is almost certain to lose the general election.
Still not sure how someone could be undecided between Hillary/Obama and McCain. McCain is Bush's 3rd term.
Dude, Bush is the one that made democrats like Mccain. It was his swiftboating of Mccain and Mccain's stance against his tax cuts that made McCain a "maverick". If you vote for Obama, then McCain will win for sure. You think republicans will vote for Obama? what are you smoking? It's ironic the democrats will be done in by the idealism of democracy turned into reality. The idealistic view is that Hilary and Obama should fight to the end to see who wins for their party. The reality is that they will fight so hard that they will have spent an enormous amount of money against each other and that either members of the losing party would be so disenfranchised that they would not vote in the national election against McCain. If hilary loses, I think a majority of her supporters would not vote at all for Obama and Vice Versa. McCain wins by default.
McCain is Bush's 3rd term.
I don't think so. McCain hates Bush and besides, should McCain win the Presidency he isn't going to have coattails to give the GOP back Congress. He would likely be much more pragmatic as President and I fully expect his rhetoric to slowly slide to center now that he has dispatched Romney.
I bet the NY Post has soo much dirt on Obama. They are just holding on to it until he beats Hilary and then Bam! It's gonna be picture of him masturbating with a dog or something. Since Obama's confessed he's used drugs before and people on drugs do stupid things I'm sure there is gonna be a whole lot of evidence.
Yeah yeah yeah, Obama can't beat McCain. You Hillary supporters keep trying to sell that one. But if you actually read a few news articles not from the New York Times (which has endorsed Hillary), you'll see that in national polls, Obama does better against McCain than Hillary. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/08/20008.matchups.schneider/index.html
Don't project your own racism onto the rest of the country.
"Don't project your own racism onto the rest of the country."
Very well said, Goya.
Babyhitler,
Not everyone thinks like you. People are coming out of the woodwork to vote for Obama. People believe in him. He is inspirational, McCain is not.
I know it's hard for you to get your BabyHitler head around it, but Obama's gonna win this one.
polling doesn't mean jacksquat when it comes to Obama. It's like asking a redneck in the south if they hate black people. Of course they'll say no, and they'll say they will vote for Obama and then not. Why are all the republicans rooting for Obama to win? ask yourselves that.
Who are these republicans rooting for Obama, exactly? The NY Post? Hell, if the NY Times said the sky was blue, the Post would call them a liar and say it was green, just to spite them. Thats the only reason that they endorsed Obama. Ann Coulter has endorsed Hillary Clinton, what does that mean?
Yeah, you're right, Southern rednecks in places like Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, and Louisiana will never vote for Obama. Oh wait, he won all those states. And all these rednecks of yours, they hate black people, but they're forward thinking feminists at the same time? You make no sense, and you know it.
goya51, you can believe America is not racist and will change, but if you look at gothamist and every other blog and message board out there you know it's not true, and everyone will get what they deserve come november.
babyhitler,
go jump in a lake.
Ok, so you dismiss scientific polling data in favor of the trolling comments of a few random people on blogs? I don't have to "believe", its happening right now. Obama is winning, people across all groups are more excited about this election than they have been in a generation.
