Super Tuesday Returns: Clinton, McCain Win NY

As of 11:45 p.m., Hillary Clinton and John McCain are projected to win their New York primaries. The Democratic primary distributes NY delegates proportionally, so the final total will be important in determining how many will go to Clinton and how many to Barack Obama.

McCain also did well in the Northeast, winning the whole tri-state area, while Mike Huckabee has been strong in the South. Mitt Romney has won Massachusetts, plus some in the Midwest and Mountain region.

Here are the candidates and the states they are projected to win:

Hillary Clinton: Arkansas, Arizona, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee
Barack Obama: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Idaho, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, Utah

Mike Huckabee: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, West Virginia
John McCain: Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma
Mitt Romney: Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Utah

As of 11:30PM, California, which has the most delegates up for grabs for both party (the Democratic delegates are doled out proportionally) is too close to call. Some good resources are:

Are there any websites you find particularly handy to track primary/caucus results? We like Politico's slick display of the results, but we wish all the states were on one page, versus needing to scroll through them.

the important thing iswho's gonna win cali? California might be this year's florida. Hmm Disneyworld is in florida and Disneyland is in california. coincidence or is the house of mouse really an illuminati organization bent on destroying the political infrastructure of the United states?

been living by this site all night...

Clinton easily won California. I told you all the exit polling is faulty because alot of the people polled who say they are voting for obama are lying! They don't want to be perceived as racist so they say they are gonna vote for him but don't. all this Obama has 47% and Clinton has 46% is stupid. Never underestimate the power of white guilt in an exit poll.

I've always liked http://www.electoral-vote.com/

who won california?

the worst.

it's interesting that Obama won most of all the redneck states. the few democrats in those republican rich states would rather vote for obama than clinton. I feel an Mccain win coming on cause obama and clinton will cancel each other out.

babyh, mccain isn't going to be running against both of them in the general election so there's nothing to cancel out.
