Extra, Extra

- Today on the Gothamist Newsmap: a shooting at 104th Ave. and Remington St. in Queens, a bank robbery on Lexington Ave. and 45th St. in Manhattan, and a gas main break on Van Siclen Ave. in Brooklyn.
- Midtown Lunch considers why it was left off the positive press clippings wall of the new Goodburger.
- New York Shitty wonders about these Bed-Stuy guard dogs - they only have ten feet of leash and don't seem to have much food.
- Idle speculation regarding police commissioner Ray Kelly's desire to run (or not run for mayor).
- The driver, already convicted of the DUI killing of a flower girl and limo driver, pleaded guilty (without admitting guilt) for evidence tampering with DNA samples. He filled his mouth with the saliva of another witness. Ugh.
- Hasbro is designing an international version of its evergreen board game Monopoly, with property values being assigned to world cities based on the number of votes they get - do New Yorkers want to be Park Ave. and Boardwalk or do they want to be Baltic Ave.?
- This morning's four-alarm fire in the Bronx was eventually upgraded to a five-alarm fire shortly before 10 a.m. Five people wound up being injured in the blaze--one seriously.
- No need to head into lower Manhattan to hang with Euro-expats and drink $14 cocktails with foolish names. Have your driver drop you at a Fort Greene club where the living is posh and the bouncer has a pirate-style eye patch.

Vote on the Monopoly site people! Currently Montreal is #1 and NYC is 6th!
