NYC Album Art: The Strokes, Is This It

In 2001 Manhattan band The Strokes burst onto the scene with their debut LP Is This It. The album cover featured a tightly cropped shot of a nude model wearing (presumably) only a black glove. And now, finally, after all these years, we get to meet that model. In the below video she speaks out about the impromptu cover shot.

According to the sometimes accurate Wikipedia, "the album cover [non-US version] has been ranked as one of the greatest album covers of all time. The U.S. cover is different due to censorship, it features a photo of particle collisions in the Big European Bubble Chamber."

Huh. To be honest, I actually had no idea that there was a different cover outside the U.S. Guess I was pretty late to the party too!

short and to the point. i think this will revolutionize documentary film making and now titles will always last longer than the content.
