THEATER: Blogging playwright Brooke Berman’s new satire, Hunting and Gathering, starts with a homage to all the apartments she’s occupied in New York – twenty in all. What follows is a story of “four interconnected New Yorkers and their thwarted attempts to find their place – without compromise. Jesse has his first date since his divorce, his ex-lover Ruth is living a fantasy, his brother Astor is the 'man with the van,' and Bess has a plan to come out on top.” Produced by Primary Stages, you can enrich your theatergoing experience with these Hunting and Gathering webisodes. – John Del Signore
8pm // 59E59 Theaters [59 E 59th St] // Tickets cost $60
TV: Lost returns tonight! And the shortened 8-episode season starts out with a 2-hour premiere. With its return comes the return of Professor Thoms weekly Lost watching party. There will be tropical drink specials, plenty of screens to watch on, and free shots of jungle juice if anybody on the show dies (which is totally likely!).
8pm // Professor Thoms [219 2nd Ave] // Free
MUSIC: If the aforementioned show weren't premiering tonight, and if we didn't loathe Studio B so much...we'd definitely be heading over to check out The Thermals. We saw this band (one of our favorites) play the same space last year around this time and the venue did them no justice. But tonight they'll be back to play an original set prior to transforming into the backing band for a NYMag karaoke night! Check out their karaoke set list ahead of time, here.
8pm // Studio B [259 Banker St, Brooklyn] // $20
PARTY: It's the annual Army of Björk extravaganza tonight in Brooklyn. Enjoy the cold weather and the warm wine (glogg) along with an endless amount of tunes by Björk. She won't be there, but Kevin Spyker will be on hand to mix her tunes up with other Icelandic music. There will also be live covers performed by Drew Kolar. And dress up, there's a best costume prize that you could win! (And try to be a little more original than the go-to swan dress.)
9pm // Stain Bar [766 Grand St, Williamsburg] // Free

loathe studio b? you're out of your minds.
Lost's "two hour premiere" is a one hour clip show recap at 8 PM followed by a one hour new episode. I almost fell for ABC's suspect advertising.
