Gothamist: In Search of White Tower

Wasn't there a White Tower on the southeast corner (or just next door to the south) oh Eighth Avenue and West 14th, at the northern fringes of Greenwich Village. It was adjacent to that parking lot on Eighth Ave and Greenwich Avenue, upon which last year was built an oddly shaped modern building. The White Tower was there till the 80s at least. (I don't think it was a White CASTLe.)

During the late 60's and early 70's, there used to be one on Broadway and Hamilton Place (just off 136th Street) as you go up the hill. Best burgers ever - used to go there every Saturday afternoons as a kid!

#2 and #3: Albany alum here (Class of 2001). You two beat me to the chase! FYI: around '98 (or possibly '99), the QE2 became the Fuzebox, which it still is today... or at least since this past December when I went up there to visit friends.

You don't really have to look too hard to find a White Castle that looks like a castle. There's even one in Manhattan with a drive thru, at First Avenue at 103rd Street.

Many years ago there used be a chain in the South called "White Dungeon" but somehow they didn't do as well.

I went to SUNYA and there is a White Tower that was converted into a small concert venue for Rock Bands called QE2. I think it was on Central ave near Lark St. in Albany

There's one in Albany on Central Ave it was a bar called QE2's. Dont know what they call it now.
