Media Day at the Super Bowl is Really Bizzaro Day

2008_01_sbmediaday2.jpgA Giant hooked up to a shock device, numerous wedding proposals and an American Idol audition all added to the collective fun know as “Media Day” at the Super Bowl. What else can you expect when nearly 5,000 reporters have to shake out stories from 200 or so football players and coaches.

Ruben Droughns must be looking for something to do because he agreed to answer questions while holding two electrodes hooked up to a battery. When he got a question wrong he got a shock.

To the surprise of no one, Tom Coughlin showed up seven minutes early (2 minutes in Coughlin time) to his media session, but did provide a shock by being likeable. A ten-year old reporter even told Coughlin that he was “certainly being much nicer than Bill Belches”. (Is that really hard to do?)

One reporter went around in a wedding dress and proposed to Tom Brady, but she had the good sense to avoid Michael Strahan who said, "She knows my history. She's going to leave me alone." Strahan also proved his singing prowess when he burst into an Alicia Keyes song for the assembled reporters and he discussed who could play him in a movie (Will Smith).

Luckily, things can go back to normal today and we can concentrate on football. And while Plaxico Burress has drawn a lot of attention for his prediction of a Giants win, what are we supposed to make of the City of Boston already planning a parade?

Signing prowess? Did he write up a contract for Alicia?

can we get more pics of inez gomez please?

What's the Pickler connection?

Yeah, strapless dress, thigh-high white stockings, red high heels and on her knees.....someone should marry her quick.

Kelly Pickler appeared at some Fox media event with the Fox NFL people. I suspect she's doing something for the hideously long pre-game show.

Michael Strahan should never sing in public again. Ever.
