Obama-Teddy Fever as Rudy Counts on Florida

2008_01_bamrudy.jpg

What State of the Union? All we know is that "BAMALOT" and "SHAF-TED" are funny-in-a-silly-way Post and Daily News (respectively) covers and that Rudy Giuliani heads into today's Florida primary with a "Goodbye Rudy Tuesday" Newsday cover.

The Post says "TEDDY READY FOR PREZ OBAMA" while the News explains "Ted Kennedy backs Obama, blames Bubba for S.C. racial divide - sources." And Newsday says "Florida may seal Rudy Giuliani's fate" which is pretty true - polls indicate he's in third (tied with MIke Huckabee) in a state where he's dedicated a lot of time and effort.

  • Big picture, kids. The Dems nominee is the only game in town. The choice comes down to voting to continue the Bush philosophy by voting for a GOP candidate who has basically endorsed Bush's admin., or voting to stop the complete disaster of George W. Bush.

Obama is nothing but an orator. He has no real plans to back up his talk, afaik. I love how you bring up his being black. I never mentioned it. This is another problem with him, any real look under the covers and people claim racism... this is just ridiculous and makes me move further from supporting him because he know how to manipulate the media around it.

  • MisterTissue

SimonLok...who's a good candidate? Who's better? No gold star next to your name on the fridge for saying Bloomberg. Obama is the best candidate the democrats have had since RFK. Progressive, optimistic, intelligent, reasonable, conciliatory. I'll admit he could be a bit more specific in his platform, but one is elected to president on his abilities to lead.

I'm sorry if you don't like that he's black.

Unfortunately, the people we would like to see run for Prez are too smart to even try.

  • SimonLok

LMAO, I hope you're being sarcastic because the Dems are not offering up a single good choice. Lucky for them, the Reps are no better. Obama, Hillary, McCain, Romney, Huckabee, Edwards... WTF?! Can we please have a do-over? please? I'd vote for a broccoli at this point. I don't think any of these individuals will be able to deal with the absolute mess that they are inheriting and will all the more likely make things worse.

  • MisterTissue

Come on...this the best field of candidates the Democrats have put up since, what, RFK?

Moreover, Giuliani's goose was always cooked. It's not that he's slipped...the NY media hype machine wanted him to look like a viable candidate, and then they started talking to people. Turns out, no one outside of NY and NJ gives a damn about Rudy.

News flash from the rest of country: IF Bloomberg is foolish enough to run for president, NO ONE WILL CARE! No one's heard of him in Nebraska and he won't stand a chance.

    Obama in '08!

How can I shamelessly profit from Mr Giuliani's impending disaster?

Maybe offer inexpensive leadership speeches on how to listen, or write a For Dummies book:

"Run a failed prez campaign as a controversial ex-NYC mayor for Dummies."

Then take all the credit for his campaign's implosion.

haha for just once, i am happy as a little clam at high tide with a mermaid swimmin' by at the way things are proceeding.

  • SimonLok

its a shame that in these problematic times we have 2 non choices. I think the democratic party should go back to the smoke filled room days and end the public involvement because we keep getting losers.

  • matty

Babyhitler do you say these things in public? Or just on a messageboard in a lame effort to be provocative.

  • babyhitler

ted kennedy validated al gore in 2000 and kerry in 2004. look at how well it turned out. I'm telling you that a majority of democrats will not vote this year. They'll be "like Woman candidate or black candidate? no thanks. I'll just stay home." Instead of being percieved as racist or sexist they'll choose the apathatic.

  • freddyhere

    haha good one!

  • Tim N.

    Giuliani.

    Rested. Testy. Done.

  • matty

I wish it said "TEDDY READY FOR PREZZY OBEZZY"

  • Toby von Meistersinger

We met Ted Kennedy once and he smelled of alcohol. We should mention that this was about 9:30 a.m. on Capitol Hill.

Plus, there have to be better people (not a politician) than Hillary or Obama out there who can run for office.

  • JMH

"Goodbye Rudy Tuesday" is WAY better than "ShafTED".

  • MFer

SHAF-TED? You want shafted? Mary Jo Kopechne is still dead.

  • Tgirl

SHAFTED? oh no, Mrs. Clinton. It's much worse than that.

It's a vast LEFT WING conspiracy!
