Fatal Shooting at Prison Release Party in Queens

2008_01_policeline.jpgEarly this morning, a 30-year-old man was shot dead outside a bar-restaurant in Long Island City. Joseph Prince, who was found with two gun shots in his head, had been attending a friend's prison release party.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said a fight that started at La Familia Bar and Restaurant on 44th Drive and moved to the street, where people started to throw bottles at each other. The Daily News reports that shell casings from a .45-caliber gun were found. No one has been arrested yet.

Prince had two children and worked in construction. He apparently also had a criminal record ("arrests for drugs and theft, including an attempted-murder charge," according to the News). His grandmother said, "He has two beautiful kids, and they love him to death. Oh, God, I don't know how to tell them."

Mit ga fluengen- Mit ga huengen!(sp?)
(German saying: 'Who you fly with- is who you hang with!)

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.

I wonder if Prince told someone to go get his f'n shinebox.

He's keepin it reals, yo!

...reals, FOEVAH!

But sounds like it's safer than a Hip-Hop CD release party.

you gotta pick and choose your parties

Love those blacks always keeping it gangster style.

someone probably told him to go home and get his shinebox.

Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas.

I feel awful for his family.

But him? Not so much.

You tell them Daddy is dead because he was trying to be cool. he had attempted to murder someone. Stole and sold drugs to people.
This country is soooooooooooooooooo great! lol

Oh right!

Maybe he may have been better off seeking safe haven with a good ol' Catholic Priest. Or maybe cathcing a ride home with an off duty Firmen. Or mabye even ........

You get the point!

while you run off to get your colorless bed sheets!

He would have been safer hanging out with a catholic priest , or maybe catching a ride home with a NYC Firemen.
