Noteworthy Television This Week: Get Lost

Lost_Title.jpgLost is back this week! We are hoping that the fourth, albeit strike-shortened, season will answer some more questions and hopefully be less confusing. Plus, when the season starts on Thursday night (9:00 p.m., WABC7) it means one less hour of strike filler.

If for some reason you have never heard of the immensely popular show, it is about the survivors of a plane crash who are trapped on a mysterious island in the Pacific. Of course, it is much more than that with overarching mysteries, and all sorts of MacGuffins.

The only problem is that the season will be a measly 8 episodes (this week's is two hours long, though). With most shows this wouldn’t be a problem, but since this one has all sorts of long story arcs it will most likely suffer since it will not even get half a normal season in. Still, it's better than nothing.

Also of note this week:
Gossip Girl Revealed (Monday, 8:00 p.m., WPIX 11) The pilot episode of Gossip Girl gets another showing, but this time it has added content padding it – interviews with the cast, behind the scenes looks, and some more bonus material padding it to fill a 90 minute slot.

State of the Union (Monday, 9:00 p.m., multiple channels) It is the lame duck President Bush’s final State of the Union Address and there will be oodles of coverage on many networks, so pick your favorite. We recommend C-SPAN, since it is the one with the fewest talking heads.

Telling The Truth: The Best In Broadcast Journalism (Tuesday, 9:00 p.m., WNET 13) Christiane Amanpour hosts this special about this years winners of the duPont-Columbia Awards, which are the broadcasting equivalent of the Pulitzers.

This is a JJ abrams show. I bet he's going to do an ambiguous fade to black sopranos ending just like sopranos and cloverfield. It'll be like "look at me, I'm a genius! the ending? it's whatever you want it to be. use your imagination! Those question that we brought up? never answered. You wasted your life watching our show!"

I want the Cloverfield monster to make an appearance! Or at least Felicity.

wasn't felicity all a dream?

While Thursday's Lost is two hours, I think the first hour is a clips show or recap or something along those lines.

and it starts at 8p, not 9
