The Garden Gulag Takes Hold

2008_01_knicksobserver.jpgNow it all makes sense, they can’t win on the court, so MSG officials are going to try and control the story off the court. And by control we really mean control. We already knew they wanted complete control over the fans and over the media, but even the coaches are not immune to the Garden’s nefarious ways.

Larry Brown (remember him?) says there were “spies throughout the arena” when he was the coach and that the Knick management wouldn’t talk to him. (Is that a bad thing?) More disturbing are the stories from the press about being manhandled by Garden security as they tried to talk to a fan who was being removed from the game.

Since Monday’s incident the Garden has increased restrictions on the media. They already control what can be said on local TV broadcasts, so they must think that all Knicks’ fans are idiots or won’t notice that the team stinks if no one tells them that the team stinks. Maybe they can just keep giving Giants’ players courtside seats, but the only cheers you will hear at Knicks games anytime soon will be when a new coach takes over.

Now is that picture really appropriate? It clearly depicts two homosexual individuals engaged in an unnatural act. For shame, Gothamist!

Guy on top: Who's your daddy, muthafcka!??

Thank goodness Dolan doesn't really care about hockey.

Hey, speaking of the Garden, is anything, I don't know, SPECIAL going on there tonight? Something that might be worth reporting on? Something involving the arena's non-crappy tenant? The one whose GM didn't get sued for sexual harassment? Here, I'll give you a hint:
