Tom Brady "Bootgate" Takes A Turn

2008_01_bradygirl.jpgIs he hurt or isn’t he? That is the question after Tom Brady was spotted walking without a boot on his foot a day after being seen with one. Sources say that Brady is suffering from a mild high ankle sprain and will not have any problem playing in the Super Bowl. It should be noted that Plaxico Burress has had the same injury all season and has managed to play through it.

Perhaps the whole thing is simply an attempt masterminded by Bill Belichick to create uncertainty in the Giants’ minds? Maybe the media should be staking out a certain house in Park Slope for answers? Or, maybe Tom was just trying to get some sympathy from Giselle? Luckily, all this silliness should mitigate a bit Thursday because the teams will return to practice before flying to Arizona.

Whatever the truth behind “Bootgate” the betting public seems to think there is something to it as the Giants are now 11.5-point underdogs, down from 13.5 on Sunday.

whether he's hurt or not the media is buying into it...

My bet: it's a ruse and it seems to be working very well.

It's not a scheme, trick or ruse. It is what it is, as Belichick might say.

I agree, it is what it is -- which is nothing at all. Just a meaningless distraction from the real issue at hand.
